मित्र/मैत्रिणींनो,

     आज वाचूया ज्ञानरंजक आणि ज्ञानवर्धक इंग्रजी निबंध. या निबंधाचे  शीर्षक आहे- "Child Trafficking"

                               Child Trafficking--
                              -------------------

Child trafficking is a social issue which is prevalent in India. It is the act of illegally putting children to work in the form of exploiting them. It includes kidnapping, selling, receiving and sheltering children for exploitative purposes. The children are forced to do things against their will.

It is a matter of concern especially in third world countries like India. A large number of children are subjected to this crime each year. They are put in vulnerable conditions of violence and sexual abuse. Child trafficking is clearly a violation of human rights. It snatches away the childhood of the children by robbing them of their innocence and freedom.

                  Causes of Child Trafficking

There are a number of reasons as to why child trafficking is prevalent in India. One of the main reasons is of unemployment. As India has a serious unemployment problem, most of the population is living below the poverty line. The number of mouths to feed is more and the hands to feed them are less. This forces the children to get out and work where they are trafficked to cities for earning. The traffickers trick children into working but instead make them beg for money.

Furthermore, girls are more subjected to child trafficking due to the objectification of women. They sell them into prostitution to satisfy the needs of much older men. They view them as sex objects by male and exploited sexually. Young girls are being sold and a whole racket is run by people who indulge in child trafficking.

Moreover, bonded labor is also a cause of child trafficking. As the parents do not have the means to make ends meet, they sell their children. This makes them forcefully work as bonded labors in domestic households or factories to pay off their parent's debts.

Most importantly, the high illiteracy rate in India is a major cause of child trafficking. Families surrender their kids to child traffickers due to lack of education and awareness. Uneducated children are an easy target for such people. Moreover, the functioning of laws in India is very poor. Thus, the child traffickers are at very low risks as the government takes no stringent actions against them.

                 Impact of Child Trafficking

Child trafficking is very harmful to the victims as well as society as a whole. When the child who is being trafficked is taken away from his/her home, they are put into isolation. The child traffickers shift them into a vulnerable environment from that of their loving and caring one at home. Similarly, it impacts the mental health of the child gravely and results in a traumatic impact.

Subsequently, as they do not care for the children and make them work endlessly, this takes away their educational opportunity from them. The traffickers' transport them to different locations in factories and brothels. In other words, their learning capacity fades due to the abuse they inflict on them. Thus, it destroys any future chances of education.

Similarly, the physical health of the child deteriorates at a faster rate. They make them live in inhumane conditions and do not give them basic health care. They beat them mercilessly and abuse them physically. Sexual assault is very common among child trafficking. Even worse, they also trade their organs for money which causes serious repercussions.

Therefore, we see how child trafficking impacts the lives of children. The government must implement stringent laws that prevent this practice. The government must give the children proper facilities to recover from their trauma.
