नववधू परी नटली माती
हिरवा शालु नेसुन लाजली शेती
बाजरीच्या पानातुन हसु लागल्या मुंडावळ्या
हळदीचा रंग उडवण्यास आल्या श्रावण पाहळ्या.

चिमणी पाखरे एक किलबिल परिवार
बांदावरची डोलदार झाडे झाली चिंब गार,
वाऱ्याची भलतीच नशा आठवण करते एक प्रहर
शेवगा जणु करवलीच, घेऊन आला बेधुंद बहर.

परसातली गुलछडी तर भलतीच सजली
शेजाऱ्याच्या मोगऱ्याला पाहुन ती ही लाजली,
नदी काठी पुन्हा झाली झाडी घनदाट
राघु ही डोळा ठेवुन बघतोय मैनेची वाट.

मायेनं पान्हाहुन वाहु लागलेत पाझरणारे झरे
श्रावणात घरातही वाहु लागतात वेगळेच वारे,
उतरत जाते तिच्या प्रेमाची साजुक पायरी
कानात कुजबुजते श्रावण आहे जाऊ का माहेरी.

The soil got ready like a new bride

The farm is blushing like it is wearing an green saree

बाजरीच्या पानातुन हसु लागल्या मुंडावळ्या
Mundavalya (headgear/veil) started laughing from the leaves of cereal (bajri) grain

हळदीचा रंग उडवण्यास आल्या श्रावण पाहळ्या.
Spring days have come to shower color of turmeric


चिमणी पाखरे एक किलबिल परिवार
The family of a sparrows are chirping as one

बांदावरची डोलदार झाडे झाली चिंब गार,
All the trees get wet and very cold

वाऱ्याची भलतीच नशा आठवण करते एक प्रहर
The wind reminds us of a different hangover

शेवगा जणु करवलीच, घेऊन आला बेधुंद बहर.
Drumsticks looks like Karavali come with a special season (Karavali who stands next to the bride till the end of marriage ceremony)


परसातली गुलछडी तर भलतीच सजली
Even the surrounding areas are decorated with flowers (गुलछडी)

शेजाऱ्याच्या मोगऱ्याला पाहुन ती ही लाजली,
The flowers (गुलछडी) felt shy looking at the nearby Mogaras

नदी काठी पुन्हा झाली झाडी घनदाट
The trees became dark green at the riverside

राघु ही डोळा ठेवुन बघतोय मैनेची वाट.
The parrot is waiting by keeping his eyes wide open looking for the Maina


मायेनं पान्हाहुन वाहु लागलेत पाझरणारे झरे
The water overflows kindly like a flowing spring

श्रावणात घरातही वाहु लागतात वेगळेच वारे,
In Spring season (August days) a different type of wind flows freely in the homes
