     The practice of yoga has the power to heal the entire body. It is, therefore, the best medicine for a human being can have. Also, it can help you fight against any type of disease you are suffering from. Thus, for all these reasons yoga day came into existence on June 21 from 2015. Thus, an essay on international yoga day helps you understand the benefits of yoga and why the day is celebrated!

     In order to promote the yoga day and help people knowing about the significance of this day all colleges and schools organize an essay competition. This competition can help students become aware of yoga and its benefits. Yoga is more than just the calories and making your muscles tone. It is a workout between mind and body where you can strengthen and stretch poses along with the deep breathing exercises.

     There are more 100 different forms of yoga where some of them are intense while others are slow. Yoga is considered as an invaluable gift from the ancient Indian tradition. Also, it embodies the unity of body and mind, restraint and fulfillment, action and thought, etc. Additionally, it is a harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach between well being and health. Thus, through yoga can explore profoundly various mechanics of life.

     The other exercises help you take care of the physical conditions of your body. While yoga helps you in controlling your mind and body. There are various asanas and yoga postures that can help you keep the mind and body fit. Breathing exercises and pranayama helps in rejuvenating the mind and soul. Thus, it is said that if you start your day with pranayama than it can help in thinking better and staying calm and peaceful. If you have an unhealthy diet, sedentary lifestyles, and stress than it might lead to various diseases.

     Launching yoga on a particular day and celebrating it as a yoga day was initiated by the Prime minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. This celebration of international yoga is further supported by various other global leader ms. More than 165 countries like China, USA, Canada takes part in this event. Also, it was celebrated by organizing various activities like yoga competition, yoga training campus, and various other activities. It was done to increase the awareness of the innumerable benefits that one derive by doing yoga on a daily basis.

     Thus, in conclusion, meditation teaches you how to control the mind. Through systematically practicing yoga one can overcome the negative thinking which can give confidence and further enhance the mental powers. Also, increasing self-awareness can help in increasing concentration and attention levels. So, yoga is considered essential for children also.
